Run the Valley 10K 2011

Whitney and I ran the 10K Saturday. The last mile goes right by our house. Our adoring fans made us a sign.

I have been meaning to post this for some time now. Mom brought it to me when she was here for Arnold's birth.

I guess my love for running started at this point in my life... (although, I don't look too enthused in this particular shot). Thanks Mom!

I'm Back...

Finally - back to my morning runs with Whitney and the dogs. Back in April, it seemed like an eternity before I would be able to run again and, yet, this morning it seemed like we hardly missed a beat. 4 miles - no walking. I feel great.

Returned home to a sleeping baby (and toddler and husband). I love the quiet stillness in the house. It has already been a good morning - and it is only 6 am.

5 am run today with Whitney (and pooches)...

Near attack by standard poodle (saved by the Invisible Fence) - surprisingly, not nearly as frightening as the wheezing pugs (dubbed the twin satanic pigs by Whitney)
1 mile later...
animal noise I have never heard in my life (should have heeded the warning)
12 seconds later...
Near attack by pack of deer (feet away) - luckily they were more scared of us.
A good half mile of breathlessness from the scare and uncontrollable laughing.
