Preschooler in Chief?

We went to the PAI Open House for their new location yesterday morning. As we were driving there, I explained to Emma Claire that we were going to a party at the business the Kadue family owns. I also talked about how she "owns" part of the building and what that means.
Emma Claire, as we are walking into the building: "where is my parking spot?".

And, We're off...

In true Grizwald fashion - every crack and crevice of the wagon packed with the "essentials". Dogs off to "Camp Peggy" for the week (thanks, again Hansons'!). I actually checked a couple of times to make sure both kids were with us. It sure is a lot of work to vacation!

Off to Fair Hills in Detroit Lakes for a week!

First Steps

Arnold was taking a couple of steps at a time yesterday. This morning he was taking little "bunny hops" instead of steps. (I am trying to get video, without success yet). He is very proud of himself and has really been wanting to walk. I bet by this time next week, he will really be moving.

Annie

Rowie and Opa took Emma Claire to see "Annie" at Stages Theater during their visit last weekend. Emma Claire especially loves Sandy the dog. Rowie also gave her the original movie, which I watched no less than a thousand times growing up. It was one of my favorites and still is. It is now fun to watch it with Emma Claire.

Fun at the Pool

We sure have enjoyed the SLP Acquatic Center this summer and have eaten many picnics and spent many afternoons there. Emma Claire has taken to the water and so has Arnold. Emma Claire likes to "practice" swimming, jumping off the side into the shallow water and putting her face in the water sometimes. Arnold just likes to move. He has no fear and crawls until I stop him. He puts his face in the water and giggles when he comes up.
I will be sad when it closes for the summer.

Arnold's First Birthday

We celebrated Arnold's first birthday last weekend with a fun filled birthday party. The "theme" was lots of orange, blue, stripes and polka dots.

Rowie and Opa spent the weekend with us and at the party were "the cousins" (Lila, Ollie and Quinn), Adrian and Elissa, Marjorie, Grandee, Papa Rick, Joyce, Mike, Grant and Tyler.
Arnold enjoyed his celebration and especially enjoyed the activity (and they were all very active) with his big cousins and his big sister. The highlight of the party was the water table (a gift from Rowie and Opa) and the water gun battle.
It was a special first birthday.
