Emma Claire is "Bona fide"

Emma Claire was Baptized this past Sunday, July 27, 2008 (which would have been her great-grandmother Oma's - Opa's mother - birthday). There were over 20 present to share in the event. Mom, Dad, Rowie, Opa, Aunt Gret and Uncle J (the Godparents), Great-grandmother Marjorie, Grandpa Rick & Diane, Aunt Lissie, Uncle Adrian, Lila, Ollie & Quinnie, Uncle Paul, Aunt Chris, Laura, Ron, Ashley & Brady, Harrison, Marissa & Jonah. (Whew...I think that is everyone!). The service was lovely. It was held outdoors at "Calvary Park" of Calvary Lutheran in Golden Valley. It wasn't too hot for late July. Overcast sky, but the rain held off. Pastor Lynn performed the Baptism. Emma Claire seemed to take in every word, making sure she fully understood the implications of what she was agreeing to. She was dressed in a hand sewn gown (made by Sandra Ashford, who tailored "the wedding dress"). Her Rowie and Opa gave it to her as a gift, to hand down to siblings and future children. It sure was long! We were just hoping the pastor did not need to find her feet for anointing!


Following the service, there was a "party" for Emma Claire at Golden Valley Country Club, where Emma Claire performed for all in attendance by showing off her cupie!
