We took Emma Claire to her first movie - Toy Story 3. She loved it and watched every minute. At the beginning, she immediately recognized the signature Disney castle intro from her most recent fixation with her Tinkerbell DVD and said "I've seen this one already". She had her first movie popcorn and her first taste (or 10) of Coke - a very happy girl (and mom and dad).

Thankful
Every night at bedtime, Emma Claire and I talk about what we are thankful for that day. Her response varies, but usually family members, a couple of teachers and friends, the dogs and the sunshine are included.
This night (after being thankful for the pink doggie and the blue doggie...???), Emma Claire said to me "I thankful for you, Mommy". What a blessing...

"WHY"???...
I wondered when the "why" stage would hit - well, it has. "Whyyyyyy, Mommy, hey, whyyyy? Whyyyyy, Daddy". I am running out of answers already.
Fourth of July

Emma Claire has been asking about fireworks for the past few weeks and finally got to see some in real life again for the fourth - up close and personal at the Carvers' - which was a "near professional" display. Fortunately - no casualties :-)
The evening of the fourth was spent with the Kadue cousins at the Interlachen carnival. Emma Claire got to ride a pony, hold a kitten, eat a snow cone and play in the "bouncy things".
