Rowie's Here!
Rowie arrived last night to visit for a week and to celebrate my birthday with us this weekend! Emma Claire has been super excited. She has a long list of things she wants to do with Rowie while she is here: "Rowie can take me to Little Gym and Target", "I want to make cookies with Rowie", among many others. It is going to be fun.

Disney Princesses on Ice: Princess Wishes

Emma Claire and I went this Saturday to Disney Princesses on Ice: Princess Wishes at Target Center. She was so excited about being there. It was pretty magical. Emma Claire picked out her princess dress days before and laid it out (I think she is "Jasmine"). She loved the show. Her favorite was Snow White and the 7 dwarfs. Most of the little girls there were dressed in their princess attire. Lots of tutus, wands, wings, tiaras, even high heels. Disney sure does know how to put on a show. Made me really want to go to Disney World.

Arnold: 7 Months Old

The latest and greatest with Arnold at 7 months:
- sitting up independently (now, I can just sit him up and walk away). He likes to sit up and play with his toys.
- 2 pearly whites on the bottom (lots of chewing, drooling and biting these days. everything goes in the mouth
- not really interested in eating baby food. I try a couple times every day without much success. He just plain doesn't want to eat it. Most of the time, he is tight lipped and won't open up. Other times, I sneak it in and he gags. More recently, I have had a little success with a few bites (and a lot of theatrics) and I tried puffs last night and he loved them! I was shocked that he was actually able to pick them up (with much concentration) and put them in his mouth. Really fun to watch.
- hugs and kisses - Arnold gives me lots of big hugs and open mouth kisses. He is always smiling and happy to see me first thing in the morning. He usually just lays in his crib patiently until someone comes to get him up.
- reaching a little - for me and recently for Brad (loves his daddy)
- bouncing - likes to bounce, especially to music
- grabbing - anything in reach
- playing - with toys now
- sounds - lots of squeals and "ma, ma, ma", "da-da-da" (not intentionally to us, but it won't be long!)
- laughs at big sister
Arnold is a sweet little thing. His temperament, so far, is very sweet, laid back and patient. I think he is going to be a lot like his daddy.

Real Men Wear Pink...

I walked in Arnold's classroom yesterday afternoon for pick up and couldn't spot him among the other babies. The teacher said he is just finishing up his bottle, so I look down and there he is... dressed in pink from head to toe. I guess it is time to re-stock the cubby with changes of clothes :-). He didn't seem to mind and Emma Claire thought it was the best thing ever - I have a feeling it isn't the last time he will be dressed in pink, seeing as he has a big sister. He is a good sport.
